Danielle's Story
When Danielle started in the program, family and friends were not sure what to expect because teachers and professionals had told them for 18 years, not to expect too much from Danielle. Regardless, Danielle enrolled in the program and has achieved some amazing results. Not only is she now able to read and write her name, which was always her dream and her family's dream for her, but also last week she stunned a group of family and friends at a meeting by reading a paragraph to them about her studies in the program. This made Danielle very proud and family members very teary as they saw Danielle doing something professionals always said would be impossible.
Danielle has achieved this with the support of her volunteer tutor and now has her eyes set on completing the final modules in the course and then will decide whether to pursue further study or employment. We have every expectation that we have only begun to see what Danielle can do.
