Go Akash!!!

Akash Manech at compter desk

At DEAC* Inc we have the FutureFlex program which is a program for young adults with a disability (cerebral palsy) who have recently left school and who are looking to move into a further study area or into employment.

Students learn all kinds of things at FutureFlex - in fact our motto is "learn something new every day!".  The core training centres around functional literacy and numeracy skills, as well as generic work skills like team work, problem solving, conflict management and relationships.

One of our success stories is Akash Manech, who has worked very hard to achieve his Certificate II in Business.  Akash has completed modules which include Microsoft Word and Excel plus theory modules including Occupational Health and Safety, Customer Service and File Management.

Akash’s goal for 2009 is to apply for a traineeship in either Certificate III in Business or Certificate III in Information Technology, and sometime in the future aims to get a job in an office environment where he can put his skills into practice.
