Our Philosophy
Our philosophy is based on the belief that everybody has a right to access education and training. This means that anyone should be able to undertake a course/program or be included in neighbourhood houses and learning centres, regardless of Disability.
Equal access to quality education for people with disabilities based on the Disability Discrimination Act 1992 and a number of other government and statutory acts.
Any agency that receives Department of Human Services (DHS) funding must also comply with the Victorian Disability Standards, which have been derived from the National Disability Standards. These standards were recently revised and have now come into force (Aug 2005). More information about the draft Revised Victorian Disability Standards can be found on the Victoria State Government Disability Services Division, Department of Human Services (DHS) web site
